Bling Dental's own Dr. Katie Ball will be traveling to the Dominican Republic to treat orphans as part of a mission to bring dental health to less fortunate countries. As part of this mission, she also wants to bring some basic supplies to these children and is inviting anyone to help her.
A word from Dr. Katie about her upcoming trip to the Dominican Republic:
I am part of a national team of over 25 dedicated professionals who are bringing dental services to orphans in the Dominican Republic (DR). This includes oral health screenings, training in how to properly brush and floss (and all the supplies to do it), preventive dentistry (like sealants), restorative dentistry (like fillings) and, if necessary, extractions of unhealthy teeth.
We are partnering with Kids Alive International, which has been rescuing kids around the world for almost 90 years. Our project began in October 2009 and continues with the long-term goal of building and equipping a local dental clinic, staffed with local talent. We want to work ourselves out of a job-- and are making progress on all fronts!
